What is your deepest fear?

This is a question Carter from the movie Coach Carter kept asking his basketball team players. The question would always come out of the blue.

Nobody understood why he was asking that and the truth is, nobody knew the answer or wanted to think about it. Until someone gave him a very unexpected answer…

I watched this movie eight years ago but I never forgot that answer. I remember thinking about it for days. And after reading Cristiane Cardoso's post "She is the light", I remembered it and decided to share with you.

Here’s the answer shown in the movie:

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It's our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. You playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give people permission to do the same.As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others".

What do you think it means?

What could it mean to you?
